You are determined, hard-working and focused but you are just not seeing results from your workouts? It’s not fair.
Let’s find the cause and get that results you are after. Ready?
1. Your fridge is the main suspect!
It shines so bright at night, and it makes you feel calmer but just for a second. Minutes after the late night secret snacking time it’s more than likely that you feel disappointed and guilty. And it’s not just about the munchies and the amount of food you eat during the day – it’s what you eat that matters.
Nutrition is number one! Try focusing on eating whole foods, and stay away from prepackaged stuff. Remember, people can train 6 times a week but if they are not fueling themselves properly all that hard work is pointless.
You should probably aim for a diet rich in proteins, vegetables, fruits and good fats. Need some help?

2. You are trying too hard
Yes, that’s possible. If you are working out every day you probably feel burnt out and that’s the main reason why you are not really getting much out of your workout sessions.
Your body needs to take a break so it can recover properly so please take a day off and get some rest. You’ll have more energy and stamina to slay the next session!
If it feels too hard at the beginning, there’s always an option of the active recovery – taking a walk, slow run or a few yoga positions. Your body will keep moving and burning calories but at the same time, it will get a much-needed break.

3. How do you sleep at night?
Getting poor sleep can sabotage your efforts. Sleep deprivation impacts the hormones that control appetite thus making the light in your fridge even more appealing. You’ll need to reach for a quick energy boost and that’s usually highly caloric foods.
Not to mention that you probably won’t have enough energy to work out in the first place. Try leaving electronics outside the bedroom and don’t drink coffee after 2 PM. Nap wisely, try separating blankets in a shared bed or keeping a consistent wake/sleep schedule; even on weekends.
Your partner snores? Find a T-shirt with a front pocket, sew a tennis ball into the pocket and suggest that he/her wear it backward to make sleeping on the back uncomfortable enough to help him/her to say on the side. It’s silly but it works in most cases!

4. Is every workout a challenge?
Intensity beats duration anytime! Your body will gradually adapt to the same workout routine so try mixing it up a bit and put some more weight during your strength training. You should probably alternate workouts between light, medium, and heavy days to get the best toning results.
If you really want progress, your workouts should feel challenging. The second you start feeling comfy and light during your sessions you should know that it’s time to spice it up a bit. Your body is not making any adaptations, therefore, there’s no progress.
Get out of your comfort zone and get that results!

5. You are too hard on yourself
Your results might be perfectly fine. It’s your expectations that are a bit off. It might be the pace you are not satisfied with because you made unrealistic goals in the first place, or maybe the problem lies in your own perception?
As an example; maybe you are focusing too much on your “problem area” and ignoring the positive progress.
Yeah, you don’t have a six-pack yet, but your arms look so muscular and athletic. Maybe you started sleeping better or started feeling calmer; these are also benefits of your workouts, try not to underestimate them. Creating healthy habits it’s not an easy task, yet you are doing great – celebrate that fact.
